| On November 10th, 2005, Scott Burns and I flew to Beirut
to run the Beirut International Marathon. While we were there,
we explored the city and nearby towns a bit. The marathon
was well organized and we were pleased with our times (3:57
for me). Lebanese people are very friendly and Beirut has
a very Mediterranean feel to it.

are the storage caves of the Kasaro winery, used since
Roman times. |

| The ex-Holiday
Inn is a very visible reminder of the recent civil war. |

| The fantastic ruins
of Baalbek, the "Sun City" of the Roman Empire. These columns
are supposedly the biggest in the world. |
